The Whanau Day Out 2006

Whanau Day Out 2006 is a FREE family fun event lasting all day, with attractions for infant to the elderly. All are welcome.
Whanau Day Out will be held on Saturday the 25th March 2006 at Parrs Park, 471 west Coast Road, in the Auckland suburb of Glen Eden.

There is plenty of Free On Site Parking available, with additional street parking.
  • Onsite Parking is available for long term parking at the back field between the swimming pool and Seymour Road. The entrance to this is far easier from the West Coast Rd end than from the Seymour Rd end because of a tight corner.
  • For people that are being dropped off, there is an off street drop off space available just inside the entrance from West Coast Road.
  • This drop off space can also be used to drop the family off next to the grounds, before the driver takes the car over to the long term parking area.
  • Please do not park in the swimming pool's car park.
  • Plenty of Street Parking
  • Take special care with children in the traffic.
  • Plan your entrance and exit, to make use of free left turns, because right turns will hold up the people behind you.
  • The Roundabout at the junction of West Coast Rd and Parrs Cross Rd, can be used to make a return on the opposite side of the road, to avoid having to make a "cross traffic" right hand turn. This method can be used when Approaching from the East on West Coast Rd, and at the Seymour Rd exit where a right hand turn may take too long to wait for.
  • VIP and Invalid parking is available very near the grounds, in the end of the car park just inside the entrance from West Coast Road.
  • Ezekiel 33 Trust & The NZ Police will be providing assistance personnel for traffic flow and parking.
  • Please be patient if there are any holdups
  • Check the performance times before coming.
  • Please do not park in the swimming pool's car park.
  • Cones will be placed along the streets and/or park drive where parking is not allowed.
  • Parking in unauthorised zones may result in being towed away.
  • Pedestrians crossing the road are asked to make use of the pedestrian crossing where they are provided.
  • If you get tired of waiting or want to avoid a right turn, you can continue on to the round about, and come back on the other side of the road, for a free left turn.
  • Please make room for trucks
  • Please secure your vehicles.
  • Please park sensibly and not use up more space than needed
  • Please do not leave pets or children in cars for a long time.
  • There is no particular restrictions for bicycle parking or riding, but bicyclists are asked to make sure their bikes are secure when parked, and do not get in the way, or be unsafe. It is requested that bikes be walked, not scooted or ridden within the area of the event.
  • Bicycle, RollerBlade & Skateboard fun facilities are available at the park at the skateboard half pipe, and the skateboard pedestrian features on the path beside Seymour Road. These are likely to be heavily used, so please be careful.

So bring all the family along, and your friends. Have a great time and heaps of fun.
