Letter from Andrea Deeth to the Wester Leader about Whanau Day Out 2008 by the Ezekiel 33 Trust. Ref: Western Leader Friday 18th April 2008.

Thanks for great fun day
I attended the Ezekiel 33 Trust Fun Day at Parrs Park on Saturday April 5, with several thousand others and what a fun day it was.
Whole families were there, and there was something for everyone.
The main theme seemed to be unity, and caring for each other. Everyone talked freely with people they had never met.
Different cultures - Maori, Indian, Asian, European, Polynesian - all moved happily together. We were all one family and it felt so good to be a Kiwi.
Local schools performed with pride on the stage. There were schools from all over the west there. Their |
parents and grand parents watched with pride as the children performed.
There was fine Maori art, political displays, food stalls and giant castles and slides, etc, for the hundreds of children present.
The longer I live in the west, the more I am learning about the rare and special people it produces - people with real talent.
My thanks on behalf of many others to Stephanie and Tai Harawira for organising this day so well.
We are all looking forward to the next fun day.
Well done Stephanie and Tai.
We love you.
