 Ezekiel 33 Trust's chairman Taiawa Harawira was present over the weekend at the Willie Apiata Tribute held at Te Tii Marae, Bay of Islands.
Willie Apiata was awarded the Victoria Cross for displaying the highest order of courage!
Corporal Wilie Apiata was born 28 June 1972 in Mangakino in the Waikato and is affiliated to the Ngapuhi iwi through his fathers side. He enlisted into the NZ Army on 6th October 1989 and in 2008 has received the RSA's highest honour, known as the Badge in Gold, the Victoria Cross.
