It was the worst storm in NZ history ,and still people came out for Hone Harawira's Celebrity Roast, and Ezekiel 33 were front and centre capturing it all on camera.

Whilst I personally don't like politics, I'm thankful this night was far from that. What unfolded was a great night out where local community networks could unite and come together for a night out of fun and friendly banter. Obviously they came for one reason, that being a once in a lifetime opportunity to see Hone Harawira being served up on the chopping board, and the Roasting team did a great job of that.

Of course being a Celebrity Roast, Hone Harawira had his fair share of Celebrities with the infamous John Tamihere, Dale Husband & Vapi Kupenga on his Roasting line up. These guys did an awesome job and had the room laughing.

The MC for the night was Waihoroi Shortland and he did a brilliant job keeping the evening humming.

David Tua turned up with his team and offered his boxing gloves for the Celebrity Auction. This prized taonga was personally autographed for the buyer and sold for an astonishing $3000.

200 tickets were sold and the turn out was awesome. Other Celebrity pieces were donated for Hone's Auction. Willie Apiata kindly sent a autographed DVD, Inga The Winger signed a Rugby Ball, and a auction for Breakfast with the man himself, Hone Harawira.

A huge acknowledgement and "shout out" for the artists who came and supported the evening. Raymond Hodge was an upand coming rangatahi who wrote and performed a song for the night called "Stand Up for Your Nation".

Rachael Wharerau is another aspiring young artist who has a strong passion for music. Rachel blessed the night with her soulful originals.

Grace Ikenasio also captivated audiences with her beautiful waiata.
