About Ezekiel 33 Trust - Why the Name?

Ezekiel 33 Trust “Watchmen On The Wall” is a Christian organisation.

The 33rd chapter of the book of Ezekiel in the Bible, tells the story of the prophet Ezekiel during the captivity of the Jews in Babylon! (Babylon is in modern day Iraq) The story talks about placing a watchman on the wall of the city, as a metaphor for vigilance!
A similar theme is also conveyed earlier in Ezekiel Chapter 3.

The job of the watchmen is to "blow the horn" when he sees danger approaching the city. (the horn in those times was a ram's horn called a Shofar).

In modern day terms we call it "ringing the bell" in the city.

In the Spiritual realm:

  • That Jesus Christ loves you and is coming back!
  • That Jesus Christ died for you and me!
  • That God is calling all people back to Him!
  • That there is Hope and blessings in God!

In the Natural realm:

  • It can be about the theft of the foreshore and seabed
  • Neglect and abuse of children in a family home
  • Families struggling in hardship
  • Women in Violent relationships
  • Youth Suicide
  • Any problem which is not being addressed

The Watchmen's job is a big responsibility as the Bible says "the blood of the people will be on the Watchmen's head!

Whilst we take our spiritual responsibility seriously, we also see and meet the natural needs of people within our communities.

Our motivation:
We love people and we love our communities, it's really that simple!
