The annual Whanau Day Out will be held at Parrs Park on March 25.
It is being organised by the Ezekiel 33 Trust and will run from lOam until 9.30pm.
This year's event will feature more than 300 performers plus stalls.
There will be everything from kapa haka, breakdancing, live bands and DJ's, face painting and bouncy castles for the kids.
Spokeswoman Gaille Tinihau says last year's day was a big success.
"There was a surprising amount of interest and a demand to have another one," she says. :-
"So now's the time to do it again." Ezekiel 33 trustee Stephanie Harawira expects a crowd of up to 8,000.
"I've got artists from Taupo who are coming, the word is out."
Ms Harawira says organisers will be running two stages with a 5,000 watt PA system and full lighting rig.
Participating artists include BDS, Spacifix, Native Soul, Immigrants, DRS, MNS FX, YTDC, Higher Learning, Eden's Ark, Faith City Rockers, Western Front, Kelston Boys Hip Hop and Cross Connections.
"We will also be running a Bomb Art competition and there's lots of freebies we're giving away."
"It's all free aside from the food and arts stalls."
Ms Harawira says groups will promote road safety, suicide and drug awareness.
"It's not just about Maori, it's about the whole community," she says.
