The Social services Food Bank programme is designed as a temporary or emergency measure to tide people and families over through hard times. It is designed to give people and families a 'hand up' not a 'hand out'.

All people who visit the "Dare to Care" Food Bank undergo an assessment of their situation. If people are on the welfare system, our "Dare to Care" Food Bank team are able to liaise with WINZ to ensure they are receiving their full entitlements, which can make the difference between managing and not managing.

The assessment is also an opportunity to find out if there are other ways to help improve a person's situation, and to link in with other Ezekiel 33 Trust Social Services: Budgeting, Clothing, Employment

The Dare to Care Food Bank assess and distribute between
10-15 food parcels each week to families in need. We have experienced a rapid growth in our food bank services as the needs in the community continue to change.
