Ezekiel 33 Trust's Dare to Care Food Bank distributes food to families and whanau in need.
The Dare to care food bank programme is designed as a temporary or emergency measure to tide people and families over. It is designed to give people and families a ‘hand up’ not a ‘hand out’.
Dare to Care Food Bank
The Dare to Care Food Bank has been running for approximately 4 years and provides food to people and families in need. All people who visit the "Dare to Care" Food Bank undergo an assessment of their situation. If people are on the welfare system, our "Dare to Care" Food Bank team are able to liaise with WINZ to ensure they are receiving their full entitlements, which can make the difference between managing and not managing.
The Dare to Care Food Bank have experienced a rapid growth in our food bank services and now operate two food distribution houses which cater up to 20 families per week with a bigger demand during holiday seasons.
Every Food Bank assessment is also an opportunity to find out if there are other ways to help improve a person's situation, and to link in with other Ezekiel 33 Trust Social Services: Budgeting, Clothing, Employment, Whanau Development.
